My last days of freedom

This spring break has been a blast for me! C came to visit, I went to visit her, and I also had fun in the city. On Friday, I went to the Tenement Museum (which I had been wanting to go to for a long time). It was really interesting. I was always interested to learn about the big wave of immigration at the turn of the century in my history classes, and here I was right in the heart of it all! This Tenement is located on Orchard street, in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. In the early 1900's, this was the busiest street in the world! I got to go inside an apartment, and one room was left exactly how they found it in the 30's-the rest were decorated how they were during the time period. Let me just say that I will never complain about living in a small space again! The apartments were only 3 rooms (bathroom in the hall), and often people ran a business out of one of the rooms. And they had several kids living in these Tenements! It was a very interesting tour:) This is a picture of the outside of the building, because you were not allowed to take pics inside.

Then on Saturday, Kevin and I had fun in the city. We ate at Bro. Jimmy's BBQ, and then went on a paddle boat ride in Central Park!

Kevin looked so hot rowing that boat I had to snap a pic:)

We also saw little turtle families!
